I developed several card designs for Ty's East Street Auto. The cards were used to show appreciation and give special offers to returning customers. I especially enjoyed developing and executing the concept for the 2019 Holiday card. I ordered a rare Johnny Lightning brand die-cast metal 1971 Ford Mustang Mach I in Grabber Lime and black. This is the favorite car of the owner of Ty's East Street Auto. The car's colors are in sync with the shop's brand colors. I purchased miniature trees, thin twine, and artificial snow at a national chain art supply store and created the scene on the asphalt walkway in front of my house.
Custom Holiday Card for 2019: I truly enjoyed developing and executing the concept for the 2019 Holiday card. The plan is to show the die-cast metal car in different scenes for each year's holiday card in hopes of making it become a collector's item as the years go on and the business continues to grow and become even more successful. We sent roughly 600 cards to the current customers. I used Adobe InDesign for the layout. The display type is Viktor Script in regular weight. The text type is Futura PT in book and demi weight. I printed the cards on my own Epson graphic arts printer on 8.5" x 11" 110# card stock. Trimmed and folded to a final dimension of 4.25" h x 5.5" w. Photograph taken with Apple iPhone 8.
Previous Customer Offer Postcards: The client had worked as a mechanic at the shop that had previously operated in the same location. He had many followers from the previous business and wanted to send all the previous customers of the prior business an invitation to continue to do business at his new shop. We sent roughly 300 postcards out to the customer list from the previous shop. I used Adobe InDesign for the layout. I used images I took myself at the shop using an Apple iPhone 8. The typeface is Futura PT. The final trim is 6" w x 4" h. Printed double-sided on my Epson graphic arts printer on precut matte 80# card stock. At the time of mailing, the U.S. Postal Service had collectible Forever stamps by Hot Wheels which I thought added a fun design element to the nature of the postcard.
